Tools and Resources available on Missing Persons Day

We are pleased to announce that these services will be available to you at the event on April 9, 2011

Keeping the Word Out
George Baluzy, editor and producer at CBS will be attending Missing Persons Day and has again offered to help create a 5 minute video documentaries of missing persons.

This service through his project “We Will Find You” is offered at no charge to the families and loved ones of the missing. Each profile features links to available stories, blog posts and newscasts about the person. The finished product will be available for families for their own use or to distribute. There are also plans for CBS to make the videos available for national viewing on their website.

DNA Collection From Family Members-
We are pleased to announce that representatives from the NYS Division of Criminal Justice and the NYS Police Lab will again be available to accept DNA samples from family members.

The most useful DNA samples are from close blood relatives such as the missing person’s biological mother, father, children, brothers, or sisters. This is voluntary but we recommend that families who have a loved one missing for more than 30 days take advantage of this valuable program.
