MYFOXNY.COM -
Leanne Hausberg was last seen standing on a street corner in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. It was March 18, 1999. She was 14 years old. And she hasn't been seen since.

Behind the picture of his daughter that Alan Artale keeps in his wallet, is a good luck coin. He hopes it will help bring Leanne home one day.

Leanne is one of the 862 missing child cases in New York City. New York State has active 2,330 cases.

Some go back to the 1970s, such as the Etan Patz case. Others are more recent, such as 9-year-old Patrick Alford, who disappearance in 2010.

Some are listed as runaways. Others are called abductions.

The state's Division of Criminal Justice Services lists many of the cases on its Missing Persons Clearinghouse website.

Many have age progressed photos, like Leanne's. She would be 27 in august.

Leanne is listed as a runaway. But her family believes there was foul play involved. Her father says she wrote in a diary about dating an older man.

The NYPD says the case remains under investigation. But so far, detectives have not turned up anything. Leads have led nowhere.

But Leanne's father says he will keep searching for his daughter.

For now, though, her disappearance, like so many others, remains a mystery.

Anyone with information about Leanne's case, or any others in New York City can call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
