Kim,  the only thing that I could find was the article from June 2012. I have not heard anything more on the case,  but hopefully there will be more in the news.

GLENS FALLS -- Glens Falls Police are hoping some new attention can help solve the disappearance 41 years ago of a 13-year-old girl.

The Glens Falls Police Department recently had the State Police “cold case squad” review the file of Mary Anne Wesolowski, who disappeared Aug. 18, 1971, when walking from her home on Broad Street to Haviland Cove to meet friends to go swimming.

The department also had the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children update a poster for Wesolowski to show what she might look like at age 53 if she is still alive.

Action in the case came after police received a tip several months ago that a woman in a group home in another state resembled a digitally enhanced image of what Wesolowski might look like today.

Glens Falls Police Detective Sgt. Peter Casertino said police looked into that claim and determined the person was not Wesolowski.

That tip prompted several developments in the case as the investigation continues, however.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children updated its poster for Wesolowski with a new computer-generated drawing of her.

Casertino said State Police also looked through the Glens Falls Police investigative file and reviewed what has been done over the years.

“We sat down with an investigator and went through the file,” he said. “We looked through the old leads.”

No new interviews have been conducted. But DNA from Wesolowski’s siblings has been put on file for comparison with DNA from others that is submitted for testing, Casertino said.

Glens Falls Police Chief Will Valenza said the department’s detectives periodically review the case as new leads come in.

Valenza said the case will not be considered closed until police find out what happened.

“It’s our only open missing persons case,” Valenza said. “You have to assume there is a chance she is out there somewhere.”

No trace of Wesolowski was ever found. Police have looked into several suspects, including Kenneth Yarter a former Glens Falls man who killed 16-year-old Susan Zanta in Argyle in 1974. But none were definitively linked to Wesolowski’s disappearance.

Yarter, who is serving a life sentence in prison in Nevada for the Washington County killing and numerous rapes around the country, had worked in a restaurant near the area where Wesolowski was last seen.

Interest in him piqued in the early 1990s after police learned he told an off-duty police officer in Florida that he had gotten away with killing a girl in New York. He has denied involvement in Wesolowski’s case, however.
